Vespa Club Ghėrdeina in South Tyrol in Italy

The Vespa Club Gherdeina was founded in 2012 by three young Vespa lovers in Val Gardena. Val Gardena, with its approximately 12,000 inhabitants, is one of the most beautiful valleys of South Tyrol. The fine woodcarvings and the winter tourism made this valley, once isolated and difficult to reach, well known all over the world.

Val Gardena is located in the Dolomites, nominated UNESCO World Heritage Site. The four mountain passes of the Sella Ronda (Sella 2,244 m, Pordoi 2,239 m, Campolongo 1,875 m and Gardena 2,121 m) around the Sella Group and many other passes in the Dolomites offer much fun to all Vespa enthusiasts.

Most inhabitants of Val Gardena speak a Rhaeto-Romance language called Ladin. The Ladin people form the third largest ethnic group of South Tyrol. This ancient language dates back to the time when Romans inhabited the Alpine area and shows similarities with the Castilian, the Provencal and the Catalan languages. "Gherdėina" is the Ladin word for Val Gardena.

Our Vespa Club organizes each year several tours in South Tyrol and also outside the province of Bolzano, sets up exhibitions throughout the valley and takes part in many Vespa meetings. The Vespa Club Gherdeina has now more than 100 active members. (Tel: 338 8636296)
